MIAMI – A man was arrested Wednesday in the attempted armed robbery of a taxi driver Wednesday morning at 3510 Biscayne Blvd.

According to the Miami Police Department, when the cab driver dropped the man and woman off at their requested location, Suarez asked him to drive them one more block and make a right. When they arrived, Suarez pointed a gun at the cab driver, reached into the driver's side door arm rest and took an undisclosed amount of money, police said.

Suarez and Iacono got out of the vehicle and ran east. The taxi driver then pulled out a gun and chased the duo until he lost sight of them.

The first officer at the scene reported that he spotted the taxi driver with the gun and told him to drop it, which the man did.

Police said they later found both suspects, along with Suarez's gun, on Biscayne Boulevard.

The victim picked both Suarez and Iacono out of separate lineups.

Police said Iacono admitted that when Suarez pulled a gun on the taxi driver and took his money, she started running.

According to an arrest affidavit, Suarez is charged with attempted felony murder with a firearm.
