Police investigate suspicious package, close streets

MIAMI – Miami-Dade police closed several streets near the Government Center Friday morning while investigating a suspicious package.

The package was found on the north side of 111 NW 1st Street about 10 a.m.

Police evacuated the immediate area and shut down Northwest 3rd Street between 1st and 2nd Avenue. The roads were reopened about an hour and a half later after the package was deemed safe.
