Police investigate traffic accident that left man shot in NW Miami-Dade County

Victim listed in critical condition

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. ā€“ Police say they are investigating a traffic accident that left a man shot Saturday in northwest Miami-Dade County.

A blue Kia Cadenza and a black Ford Focus were traveling north on Northwest 22nd Avenue at Northwest 105th Avenue at 7:40 p.m., investigators said.

The Miami-Dade Police Department said the Ford sideswiped the Kia, which led to both vehicles stopping and the drivers getting out of their vehicles.

The passenger of the Ford got out of the vehicle and shot the driver of the Kia multiple times, police said. The driver and the passenger of the Ford fled north on Northwest 22nd Avenue.

Police said Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Department personnel took the victim to Jackson Memorial Hospital Ryder Trauma Center in critical condition.

The driver of the Ford is described by police as a heavyset 25- to 35-year-old man who wore dark clothing. The passenger is described by police as a 25- to 35-year-old man with a thin build who wore a white T-shirt.
