MIAMI - A broke down taxi driver was robbed Sunday evening as he waited for a tow truck.
The victim was sitting in his taxi in the area of Sixth Avenue and Northwest 79th Street when two young males, armed with guns, approached him and demanded money.
The suspects also attempted to force the victim out of his car in an attempt to steal it.
After realizing the vehicle would not work, the suspects fled on foot with the victim's $60.
Approximately an hour later another taxi cab driver arrived to a call at Second Avenue and Northwest 72nd Terrace. Upon arriving, two young males, also armed with guns, approached the driver and the passenger and demanded they give up their cash.
The two suspects then forced the victims out of the car and took off northbound on Second Avenue in the taxi.
Police are now looking for the yellow 2005 Mercury Marquis taxi with Florida tag BLCV49 that is part of the Spring Taxi Service.
The vehicle may have some front-end damage.
