OPA-LOCKA, Fla. - A man sexually battered a woman, killed her twin sister, then killed himself outside a church in West Palm Beach, according to the Opa-locka Police Department.
Police were called to an undisclosed location about 8 p.m. Saturday to reports of a sexual battery, said assistant city manager David Chiverton. Miami-Dade police's sexual battery unit investigated the incident.
About 12:25 a.m., police responded to a shooting at a home in the 2500 block of Opa-locka Boulevard and found the body of a teenage girl. She had been shot several times.
Investigators learned the murder victim and sexual battery victim were twin sisters and would have celebrated their 18th birthdays on Sunday.
Police identified the suspect as 23-year-old Demarcus Antwon Evans. They say he then drove to Grace Episcopal Church in West Palm Beach (pictured), where he killed himself.
The victim of the sexual battery was the mother of Evans' child, said Chiverton.
