PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. – A Miami Fire-Rescue lieutenant was arrested Wednesday after police said he responded to a classified ad posted by an undercover detective.
Pembroke Pines police said Ramon Marti, 48, answered an ad from a detective who was posing as a 15-year-old girl.
Police said Marti engaged in sexually explicit verbal conversations with the detective and also sent obscene materials of himself to her during one of their conversations.
Marti faces charges of online solicitation of a minor, providing obscene material to a minor and unlawful use of a two-way device (cellphone).
Police said Marti confessed to all of the charges. Fire officials said Marti has been relieved of duty as the investigation continues.
