Miami-Dade police officer not hurt in crash

A Miami-Dade police cruiser was damaged in a hit-and-run crash.

MIAMI – A Miami-Dade police officer was struck by a hit-and-run driver early Wednesday morning, authorities said.

Police said the officer's cruiser was struck by a Mercedes-Benz C300 at Northeast First Avenue and 12th Street in Miami.

Miami police found the car believed to be involved in the crash along Interstate 395 near the northbound ramp to Interstate 95. Two men were found outside of the car with front-end tire damage.

Police said the pair denied driving the car, but were detained for further questioning.

No arrests have been made.
