Police pursuit comes to crashing end

3 accused of breaking into cars arrested

MIAMI – Three people accused of breaking into cars were arrested Thursday after crashing their vehicle following a police pursuit.

The incident began near the northbound lanes of the Turnpike at 106th Street.

An officer in an unmarked car spotted the burglary suspects in a 2013 Nissan Altima. Police said he called for marked units to come and stop the Altima.

When the marked units were about one mile from the 57th Avenue exit on the Turnpike, police said, they tried to stop the Altima as the burglary suspects took off.

The suspects got off at 57th Avenue, went north to Miramar Parkway, went west on Miramar Parkway to Flamingo Road, and then south on Flamingo Road, back into Dade.

At Flamingo Road and Northwest 199th Street, police said the suspects crashed their Altima and bailed out.

All three suspects inside the Altima were later taken into custody.
