Thieves smash back window to get inside home, police say

MIAMI – Police are searching for five young men or teenagers who broke into a home in Miami earlier this week.

Police believe that the burglary occurred between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Tuesday at a home on Southwest 21st Avenue off South Dixie Highway.

According to detectives, surveillance video from outside a neighbor's home showed four young men getting out of a white older-model Ford Taurus or Mercury Sable, which was driven by an accomplice.

Police said the thieves broke a rear window of the home to get inside where they ransacked every room and left with various electronics.

Police said three of the four thieves who broke into the home are believed to be Hispanic and between the ages of 16 and 20.

Police said the fourth thief was a black man who is also believed to be between 16 and 20.

Detectives were unable to provide a description of the getaway driver.
