Police are looking for a man who chased a 10-year-old girl after she got off her school bus.
The incident happened in the 200 block of Northwest 108th Avenue about 2:40 p.m.
"I was very terrified, I was very scared," the girl said Wednesday. "My mom told me if there's a stranger, not to talk to them; if they're chasing you, scream 'help' and say what they're doing and go to my development and tell the people."
When the girl got off the bus, she noticed a man sitting under a bush next to the sidewalk. She walked past him but he got up and began following her.
"He quietly got up and I heard his wallet chains," said the girl. "I looked in the back of me and then he just started chasing me, so I ran as fast as I could."
The girl screamed for help, and the man chased her until she entered the Camden community.
"I went into my development and he stopped chasing me at one bush and he ran back to his car and drove off," she said.
He drove an older model, red-faded Toyota Camry that had a stripe across the back of the window and a partial tag of 94, police say.
"I'm very relieved that nothing happened to her," said the girl's father. "I'm upset because it happened. I can't understand why somebody would do that."
Police described the man as being in his late 20s, about 6 feet tall, and weighing 175 pounds. He had short black hair, pierced ears, and a pierced bottom lip with a blue loop.
