Police are looking for two suspects who posed as Apple Inc. representatives and told employees at a Hallandale Beach nail salon they were selling Apple products.
What they were really selling, according to police, was flour and juice cartons.
Investigators said the men walked into Sky Nail Salon at 730 W. Hallandale Beach Blvd. on Jan. 12 and claimed they worked for Apple Inc.
Authorities said the men told people they were selling bundle packages that included an Apple iPhone 5S, an iPad and an iMac for $1,100.
Four employees purchased the bundle packages. The men gave them black briefcases, saying the items were inside, and left the nail salon.
When the customers opened the briefcases, there were no electronic devices inside. Instead, they saw flour and mango juice cartons.
It's unclear why the customers did not check the merchandise before the fake Apple Inc. representatives left the nail salon.
Police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477.
