Police arrested a Florida sexual predator for molesting his neighbor’s dog.
Detectives from the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office arrested James Lee Lyons Friday in Augustine, Fla.
The dog owner told police that he let two of his dogs out of the house. But only one of the dogs came back. Hours later, Lyons returned with the missing female dog claiming he found her in the shed. The dog owner had looked in the shed.
After Lyons dropped the dog off, she was acting very withdrawn and had sustained injuries to her vulva and rectal area, police told WJXT. An emergency veterinarian reported a case of bestiality.
Records show Lyons was charged with two misdemeanors related to sexual activity involving an animal. He was released on $11,000 bond.
In 1998, Lyons was arrested for sexually abusing a child under 12-years-old, Florida Department of Law Enforcement records show. He served 13 years in prison for the crime.
