2 suspects found hiding behind North Miami Beach homes

Police say suspects shot at resident's dog

NORTH MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – Two suspects were arrested Wednesday after shots were fired in a North Miami Beach neighborhood.

Police said they observed the pair acting suspiciously in a neighborhood near Northeast 180th Street and Eighth Avenue. Police said they were driving slowly, would get out of the car and then get back in.

When officers attempted a traffic stop, the suspects ran off.

Shortly after, shots were fired.

Police called the SWAT team and established a perimeter in the neighborhood.

The suspects were found hiding behind two homes at 910 NE 180th St. and 880 NE 180th St.

Police believe the shots were aimed at a resident's dog. The dog was attacked but is expected to be OK.

Because the suspects didn't actually make it inside any homes, it was not immediately clear what charges they face.
