(CNN) -- In the wake of the Newtown shootings, "something fundamental in America has to change," President Obama said in an interview broadcast Sunday. The mass killing at an elementary school marked "the worst day of my presidency," he told NBC's "Meet the Press." While he will push for changes, "We're not going to get this done unless the American people decide it's important," the president said.
