President Trump spends Easter with family in Mar-a-Largo amid Tax Day protests

Trump sends Tweets in response to protesters

PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. – Thousands of people marched across Palm Beach County this weekend, demanding that President Donald Trump release his tax returns.

At one point, the Tax Day protesters ended up right at the entrance of Mar-a-Lago,  where Trump stayed during the Easter weekend.

Similar protesters took place across the country, and even in Hollywood and Miami.

Many who took part in the protests said they believe that by making his tax returns public Trump could shed light on his business dealings and financial ties.

In Berkeley, California, an anti-Trump rally turned violent when police moved in with riot gear to control the protesters in Berkeley. In the end dozens were injured.

Demonstrations in front of the Capitol building in the District of Columbia were led by a Trump impersonator.

That protest, along with ones in Illinois and New York, went on without any major incidents.

Trump took to Twitter on Sunday  to respond to the protesters.

In one tweet he wrote: "I did what was an almost an impossible thing to do for a Republican-easily won the Electoral College! Now Tax Returns are brought up again?"

In another tweet he wrote: "Someone should look into who paid for the small organized rallies yesterday. The election is over!"

Meanwhile, the first family attended an Easter service at  Bethesda-by-the-Sea, which is the same church where he married Melania Trump in 2005.
