PALM BEACH, Fla. – Mar-a-Lago Club, an estate owned by President-elect Donald Trump, will likely become the winter White House.
Trump comes to the location every year for Thanksgiving and this week, for the first time since winning the election, he's back.
The soon-to-be first lady Melania Trump and son Barron are also on the trip.
Security was tight when Trump touched down in West Palm Beach. A motorcade escorted him to the 20-acre estate he shares with 500 members.
"I've seen him go by four or five times throughout the primary season," Arisley Travieso said. "The amount of police now is more."
It's not just police, but Secret Service agents are protecting political aides, medical personnel and, of course, Trump's family.
Flight restrictions were established Tuesday night around the waterfront club, and the U.S. Coast Guard set up several security zones around the property.
Those zones will remain until Sunday afternoon.
The Secret Service is expected to run background checks on the members of the club during Trump's stay.
As an extra precaution, there's a 13-foot wall around the compound.
Trump's team calls this trip a brief break in the action for the president-elect to spend time with his family and hopefully eat some turkey.
Vice President-elect Mike Pence is in Mississippi for the holiday.
