WASHINGTON - The White House has unveiled portraits of former President George W. Bush and first lady Laura Welch Bush.
The two portraits were painted by John Howard Sanden, who is well known for his portraits of leaders of industry and education, according to the White House. Click here to see both portraits.
The former president is shown standing in the Oval Office in front of the 1929 William H.D. Koerner painting "A Charge to Keep." The White House said George W. Bush often called attention to the painting.
Laura Bush is shown in the Green Room, which she helped to refurbish in 2007.
The White House Historical Association contracted the portraits and will donate them to the White House.
