Why exercise when you can Prancercise?
Is it a workout, or is it a spoof? It's definitely something to behold.
Joanna Rohrback, 60, invented Prancercising 25 years ago.
"It didn't really start catching on until this week, I think," the Coral Springs woman said.
That's because blogs started featuring the video Rohrback put online last year. She's also written a book and created a website dedicated to Prancercising, which she describes as "A springy rhythmic movement forward, similar to a horse's gait, ideally induced by elation."
Rohrback is elated by the internet's sudden discovery of Prancercising, even if much of the commentary is mocking.
On the Huffington Post, her fitness routine was put on the comedy page.
"You know what? I'll take all of it -- the harsh, the goof, everything -- because that's what getting famous is about, right?" she said.
The lady's definitely got horse sense. There are four modes of Prancercising, most of them done wearing ankle weights.
Rohrback says it's great aerobic exercise, low impact on the body and lots of fun.
