Quad amputee wanted in parents' death shoots himself during traffic stop

Sean Petrozzino, 30, believed to have shot parents to death last week

ORLANDO, Fla. – A quadruple amputee from Orlando who was considered a person of interest in his parents' death killed himself during a traffic stop in Memphis, Tennessee on Tuesday, police said.

Memphis police officers said Sean Petrozzino, 30, was stopped in his father's 2012 Toyota Camry for making an illegal U-turn, and fatally shot himself as officers approached the car.

The bodies of 64-year-old Nancy Petrozzino and 63-year-old Michael Petrozzino were found shot to death inside their Orlando home on Nov. 4. Officials had received a call from the elementary school where Nancy Petrozzino worked as a second-grade teacher, asking that someone check on her.

Michael Petrozzino worked at Disney.

A surveillance photo taken by an ATM camera and released by officials shows him standing on his two prosthetic legs while taking out a wad of cash the same day his parents were found dead.

Sean Petrozzino lost his hands and feet after a bout with bacterial meningitis.

Police say he lived with his parents for the last month after separating from his wife.

Orange County Sheriff's Office detectives are expected to arrive in Memphis Tuesday.
