Company sued for false advertising

Red Bull is offering customers refunds after settling a lawsuit for false advertising.

Plaintiff Benjamin Careathers claimed he had been drinking Red Bull since 2002 before filing the lawsuit in 2013 in the U.S. District Court of the Southern District of New York.

Careathers argued that Red Bull had misled him and consumers about the product's excellence with the slogan "Red Bull gives you wings," and claims of increased performance, concentration and reaction speed.

Red Bull has agreed to pay $13 million to settle the lawsuit.

This means anyone who has bought a Red Bull between between Jan. 1, 2002 and Oct. 3, 2014 can choose either a $10 reimbursement or $15 worth of Red Bull products.

You can register your claim here by March 2, 2015.

No proof of purchase required
