ESPN's Schefter says team interviewing Bill Lazor

DAVIE, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins are reportedly wasting little time finding a new offensive coordinator to replace the recently fired Mike Sherman.

ESPN's Adam Schefter tweeted on Wednesday that the Dolphins will be talking to Eagles quarterbacks coach Bill Lazor on Wednesday.

In Lazor's first season with the Eagles, Philadelphia ranked second in the NFL in total offense with 6,676 yards and fourth in scoring with 27.6 points per game.

Before his stop in Philadelphia, Lazor served as the offensive coordinator at the University of Virginia for three seasons. Lazor also has prior NFL coaching experience as an assistant with Seattle, Washington and Atlanta.

Sherman was fired on Monday after the Dolphins scored just 7 points in the season's final two games in which the team needed one win to secure a playoff berth.

Pro Football Talk reported that Packers quarterbacks coach Ben McAdoo was also a candidate for the offensive coordinator position.

Dolphins CEO Tom Garfinkel announced on Wednesday that the team will begin looking for a new general manager to replace Jeff Ireland on Friday.
