Inspectors hit South Florida resort 26 times

Inverrary Vacation Resort's kitchen shut down for fourth time

LAUDERHILL, Fla. – The kitchen at the all-inclusive Inverrary Vacation Resort in Lauderhill was ordered shut again last week by inspectors with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.

State records show inspectors have been to the resort 15 times in 2015 and 11 times so far this year.

This is the fourth time the resort's kitchen has been ordered shut.

The last closure there was in March of this year.

This latest inspection was based on a complaint.

Pollo Tropical, outside the Pembroke Lakes Mall, was also ordered shut.

An inspector noted sewage or wastewater coming up from the drains in the kitchen.

Popular Thai Spice on Commercial Boulevard was also ordered shut.

Below is a list of all places in Broward County that were ordered shut last week and some of their violations.

Miami-Dade and Monroe counties have not yet reported closures for last week.

All the places listed below were allowed to re-open following an ordered clean up and re-inspection.

"Sewage/wastewater backing up through floor drains. Observed water coming up from floor drains behind the front counter and on the cook's line . The water is pooling behind the front counter and on the cook's line. Plumber arrived at 11:15. Observed all the floor drains are now properly draining at 11:29."

"Floor drains/drain covers heavily soiled throughout the kitchen and prep area."

"Buildup of food debris/soil residue on equipment door handles. Observed a build-up of old food on the door handles of the walk-in cooler and freezer."

"Employee touching ready-to-eat food with their bare hands - food was not being heated as a sole ingredient to 145 degrees F or immediately added to other ingredients to be cooked/heated to the minimum required temperature to allow bare hand contact. Establishment has no approved Alternative Operating Procedure. Observed employee cutting tomatoes not wearing gloves. She washed hands and put on gloves to continue. Observed another employee cutting onions bare handed. She also washed hands and put on gloves."
