Roach found in sugar container forces restaurant closure

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Two restaurants on Southwest 107th Avenue in Kendall were ordered shut last week by state inspectors.

The Chicken Kitchen and Lotus House both had roach issues, according to an inspection report.

The inspector found a live roach in a container of sugar at the Lotus House.

The Sunset Bakery in Sunrise was ordered shut for the second time.

A state inspector noted a rodent issue. Sunset was also ordered shut in 2014.

Two Sisters, located inside the Hyatt Regency in Coral Gables was also ordered shut by state inspectors.

Besides a roach issue, the inspector also found temperature issues with food.
