Robin Roberts returns to Good Morning America

NEW YORK – Robin Roberts returned to Good Morning America Wednesday. She'll be joining her co-anchors back on the set on a part-time basis, for now.

Roberts, who has been recovering after a bone marrow transplant, will work on building her strength. She'll gradually work toward returning five days a week.

In the past few weeks she has been getting back in the morning routine, which includes waking up at 3 a.m.

Earlier this year, she did a test run in the GMA studios to make sure she could deal with the early hours, the bright light, and being surrounded by people and equipment.

In New York City Wednesday, the NYSE, Hard Rock, and a plane flying above the Statue Of Liberty all carried encouraging messages for the network anchor.

Roberts got emotional when thanking viewers who have been supportive throughout the process.

You can watch Good Morning America on Local 10 beginning at 7 a.m.
