COCONUT CREEK, Fla. -

A second person is under arrest in connection with the brutal beating death of a raccoon last week behind a Carls furniture store.

Cocount Creek police said 26-year-old Vincenzo Carlisi turned himself in to police Tuesday. He is charged with felony animal cruelty by being a principal to the violent act.

Carlisi is accused of encouraging Joseph Amico to kill the animal while videotaping the attack.

Video showed Amico hit the raccoon with a two-by-four while it was inside a dumpster behind a Carl's furniture store, police said.

Last week, representatives from Carl's called Local 10 to say that neither of the men involved were employees of the company. Later that afternoon, Carls posted a press release denying that the men worked for them.

But according to the arrest report, Manager Estaban Alberto Maiz confirmed to police that both Amico and Carlisi had been Carls employees but were now "former" employees.

Amico posted bond last week.
