Second coyote captured Wednesday in west Boca Raton

Residents say coyotes have been attacking dogs in community

BOCA RATON, Fla. – A second coyote has been captured in west Boca Raton after reports of the wild animals snatching dogs in the community.

Noel Hanson of Animal Rangers, Inc. said the second coyote was captured Wednesday morning in the Boca Winds community.

The first coyote was captured Sunday by a wildlife trapper with Bandit Wildlife Management and was euthanized.

Residents in the area have reported several recent attacks and encounters with the animals.

One dog was killed earlier this month and a second was snatched in broad daylight from its leash while walking with its owner last week.

It's unclear whether the latest coyote will be euthanized.

Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control said it appears that someone was feeding the coyotes since they were not afraid of humans.
