PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. -

Senator Bill Nelson (D-Fla.) told Local 10 Political Reporter Michael Putney on Tuesday that someone may need to be fired once the problem-plagued federal Healthcare.gov website is up and running.

"The rollout of Obamacare, the opening of the website HealthCare.gov has been, I think, the kindest word I could use is disaster or fiasco. How is this going to be repaired?" Putney asked Nelson.

"It's inexcusable. Somebody ought to get fired," Nelson replied.

"Kathleen Sebelius," Putney suggested.

"No, they should wait and get the thing up and running, and then determine and let somebody be accountable," Nelson said. "That's the problem in government today. People are not held to account."

Nelson was in Miami Beach on Tuesday to endorse mayoral candidate Phillip Levine, whom he called an old friend. He added he'd support whoever is the Democratic nominee in the upcoming governor's race.

"I am so concerned about Florida and the direction it's going," said Nelson.
