FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - The future of two of the most popular restaurants in Fort Lauderdale hangs in the balance as its auction approaches.
Shooters Waterfront Cafe USA and Bootlegger, hotspots for boaters and spring breakers since opening in 1982, will be auctioned Dec. 5th as part of an order by a bankruptcy court. It is unclear what will become of the restaurants following the auction.
The property on which the restaurants are situated could be repurposed or used for multi-family homes, according to a statement issued by Fisher Auction Company, the company appointed to handle the sale.
In its heyday, Shooters was one of the most popular restaurants in the area, with boaters at times rafted three deep just to get in.
The auction will be held Thursday, December 5.
