Small plane makes emergency landing in Pompano Beach

Trainer aircraft lands on golf course near North Federal Highway

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – A small plane made an emergency landing on a South Florida golf course Tuesday night.

The Broward Sheriff's Office said the plane was forced to make an emergency landing just before 10 p.m. at a golf course in the 1000 block of North Federal Highway, not far from the Pompano Beach Airpark.

There were two men on board the trainer aircraft, but no injuries were reported.

The plane knocked down a metal fence and had damage to the left wing.

It's unknown what caused the plane to make an emergency landing.
