South Florida entrepreneur gives back to community through backpack drive

Over 100 backpacks given to elementary, middle school students

LAUDERDALE MANOR, Fla. – Kevius Morgan hosted a back-to-school event called the “ABiE Backpack Drive” to give back to community in which he grew up.

Born and raised in Lauderdale Manor, Morgan decided it was only right to have the backpack drive at Lauderdale Manor Park.

“I went to camp at the park, played sports there, and even got my first job as a lifeguard (there),” the 23-year-old said.

Through his company, the ABiE Firm and local sponsors, Morgan was able to supply more than 100 backpacks to elementary and middle school students who will be starting school Monday in Broward County.

“I can't describe or put a price tag on (it), so it only makes sense to pour back in, so the next generation is equipped,” Morgan said.

Local sponsors such as Awesunsauce Designs, 2KLife, Truheart, Falconer Fitness, Freda's Place27, APE, EJEKADEDMISFIT, Gold Feet Global, CARE for Crohn's and various chapters of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. donated supplies for the drive.
