BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. - A Boynton Beach police officer uses song to raise money for a foundation named after the 8-year-old boy killed in the Boston Marathon bombings.
Ron Ryan and his writing partner, Don Quinn, wrote the song "No More Hurting People - Peace" in honor of Martin Richard, the youngest victim of the bombings.
"We gotta provide some healing for the people that were affected," said Ryan.
Country music singer Adam Cunningham recorded the song.
"Louder than the bombs I heard/And above all the screams," sings Cunningham. "Martin, won't you hold up your sign/Standing at the finish line."
"To me, it's not just about one event -- it's about good triumphing evil and it's a special little boy with a special message," said Ryan.
The proceeds from the song will go to a foundation in Richard's name.
"I want to just do his memory and his legacy and his message justice," said Ryan.
