Many parents have trouble getting their kids to put on sunscreen, but now two Fort Lauderdale moms say they have a solution.
They've created Sparkle Screen, a suntan lotion kids can have some fun with.
Six-year old Mary Morgan told Local 10's MJ Acosta she would run to her room when her mom would tell her to put on her sunscreen. Now that her sunscreen has sparkles in it, it's a different story!
"Putting sparkles in the Sparkle Screen is really like a cool thing!"
Sparkle Screen was actually invented because of another little girl who shared Mary's aversion to sun-protecting lotion.
"Her daughters wouldn't wear sunscreen," co-founder Meredith Madsen said of her business partner, Dianna Akers. "She had to trick them to wear sunscreen so she came up with the idea of putting glitter in sunscreen and I was like 'what did you just do?!'"
Sparkle Screen isn't just for show. The SPF 30 sunscreen is made with all natural oils, provides full UVA and UVB protection, and the glitter is completely safe and BPA free.
