Tampa police are looking for the person who shot a high school student in the leg as she walked home from a football game.
Police say two friends — a 15-year-old and 16-year-old — were walking home from the game Friday night when a car stopped next to them. The suspect rolled down his window, made a statement and pointed the gun at them.
Police say the girls ran as the suspect fired at them, striking the older girl on the lower left leg. She was taken to the hospital where she remained Saturday.
"Detectives are working very good leads in this case," a police statement says, as detectives work to get a detailed description of the suspect.
