Summer Camp teaches kids how to create animation at museum in Davie

DAVIE – For two weeks , young artists will learn how to create their own animated  action flicks with talented South Florida animator Rob Cabrera.

Cabrera teaches at the 2 week camp at the Young at Arts Museum in Davie. Using IPADS the kids will learn how to tell stories, use stop motion animation and much more.

"It's really a fun way for kids to create the movies, they love to watch, "said Cabrera.

Cabrera is a longtime educator at several local schools as well as an artist in residence at Young at art.

Last year he created an animated short film with one of his former students Hollywood actress Bailey Madison called "Monica." He even featured Dywane Wade in one of his comic strips, he said Wade loved his work.

During his visit to local 10, Cabrera unveiled his latest work, Weekend Anchors Todd Tongen and Neki Mohan as #TeamnoFilter.

"The stuff that they say sometimes really gets my morning off the right way, with a laugh! " said Cabrera.
