Surveillance video shows car crashing into patrons at Miami pizzeria

10 injured in Saturday afternoon crash at Lemoni Pizza & Kitchen

MIAMI – Surveillance video obtained by Local 10 News shows a Toyota Camry crash into several diners who were sitting outside Lemoni Pizza & Kitchen on Saturday afternoon.

LISTEN: 911 call

The driver of the Camry, identified as Belony Alterma, 71, was cited for careless driving and failure to wear glasses after striking a light pole and several patrons seated outside the restaurant.

Court records show he was cited once before in 2011 for driving an unsafe vehicle.

At his home, just around the corner from the cafe, Alterma said he was feeling okay.

"From what I heard, speaking to him, he just completely lost control of the vehicle," neighbor Cash Covil said. "He doesn't remember what happened."

Police said Alterma wasn't seriously hurt and remained at the scene to help the victims.

A total of 10 people were taken to area hospitals. At least one person was listed in critical condition.
