MIAMI - Police say they have a suspect in custody who was allegedly involved in a police-involved shooting.

According to investigators, officers were attempting a traffic stop on a vehicle on Wednesday in the area of 54th Street and Northwest 3rd Avenue when the occupants of the vehicle fled on foot.

Miami-Dade police said an officer pursued one of them behind a home and fired shots at the suspect. Police said the suspect was not struck by any of the bullets.

Police said at this time, it's unclear why any of the occupants abandoned the vehicle and fled.

Charges are currently pending for the suspect. At this time, Miami-Dade police said it doesn't appear those who were also in the vehicle will be charged with a crime.
