POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – A suspect in the fatal shooting of a Pompano Beach man in August has been extradited to South Florida to face a first-degree murder charge.

Broward Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Keyla Concepcion said Seth Johnson, 34, was arrested in Tallahassee three days after the Aug. 25 shooting that left Patrick Jean, 31, dead. Johnson remained in a Tallahassee jail until Tuesday, when he was transferred to Broward County.

Detectives said Jean was playing dominoes with friends in the courtyard of a home on Northwest Fifth Avenue when a vehicle pulled up and some men he knew got out.

There was a dispute, and one of the men from the vehicle pulled out a gun and began firing, deputies said.

Witnesses told deputies that Jean had been shot and that friends took him to Broward Health North Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Concepcion said detectives are not releasing details about the Aug. 28 arrest, citing the ongoing investigation.
