Suspect in shooting near Carol City Senior High School back in court

Cedric Admas faces judge for second consecutive day

MIAMI ā€“ A man accused of opening fire outside Miami Carol City Senior High School appeared before a judge Friday for the second day in a row.

Cedric Admas, 18, faces charges of attempting to trespass on school property with a firearm, carrying a concealed firearm and displaying or using a firearm.

Police said Admas, who is a known gang member, was in a car with a group of people who jumped out and approached another gang member walking in front of the school.

Bullets went through a fence that borders the school and shattered a window. Faculty members were inside an office, along with dozens of students participating in extracurricular activities.

Miami-Dade school police Detective Steven Hadley, who was called to the shooting, spoke at Friday's hearing.

Police are still searching for others believed to be involved in the Wednesday shooting, including Stanley Ragin, 19, who was seen running away from the scene, police said.
