OPA-LOCKA, Fla. – A suspended Opa-locka police officer was arrested Saturday night on charges of aggravated battery.
Dennis Horn, 30, physically and verbally attacked his pregnant girlfriend Saturday night, according to an arrest report.
Horn and his girlfriend got into a fight after they'd visited another Opa-locka police officer who was working an off-duty detail, an arrest report said.
During the visit, Horn's girlfriend went into the officer's vehicle, where they had a brief conversation about her delivering a package to UPS for him, the report said. The officer then gave the girlfriend a brown box to drop off at UPS.
After the visit, the couple got into a verbal altercation in the parking lot of their Opa-locka home.
Horn's girlfriend told police that the altercation started because Horn is "insecure" and didn't want her speaking to another man.
Horn then grabbed his girlfriend by both of her arms, "jacked her up" against the interior portion of the passenger side door and called her a "b---- and hoes," the report said.
The woman called police when she got out of the vehicle.
Horn's girlfriend told police that the pair have been together for four months and that she is two months pregnant with his child.
Horn is a road patrol officer who is currently suspended from the Opa-locka Police Department due to another criminal investigation.
