The bodies of a man and a woman were found inside a Miami apartment Friday morning after a SWAT team standoff that lasted several hours.
The SWAT team went to a two-story apartment building at 229 Northeast 32nd Avenue after a woman was reported missing by her friend just after midnight.
When they arrived, officers found an armed man barricaded inside of the apartment. Another man called 911, saying his neighbor threatened him with a gun.
"I heard the police knocking on the door and trying to get inside and contact him," said a man who lived across the street from the apartment building.
After hours of failed negotiations, the SWAT team moved in and found the bodies.
It is unclear how the people died, but witnesses on the scene told Local 10's Ben Kennedy they heard several gunshots.
Several blocks around the apartment building were roped off as police investigated.
