SWAT team conducts mock training exercise

PORT EVERGLADES, Fla. – The Broward Sheriff's Office SWAT team performed a training exercise on Thursday involving a series of well-coordinated attacks planned by seven violent domestic terrorists.

During the training at Port Everglades, training tested the skills of BSO's SWAT team, Bomb Squad, Communications Dept and Broward Sheriff's Fire Rescue.

Fort Lauderdale Police Dept., FBI, U.S. Coast Guard and U.S. Customs and Border Protections also participated, testing the agencies' communication and coordination through a large-scale incident.

About 120 participants from various agencies also participated in the training scenario.
