TAMARAC, Fla. – A city of Tamarac commissioner facing a recall election says she'll resigns -- if she receives $8,000 from the city.
Patricia Atkins-Grad wrote that her recovery from several surgeries forced her to consider her future.
"After much consideration[,] I have concluded that my health must come first; a decision which causes me to no longer feel that I can give the focus and attention the citizens of Tamarac and Tamarac's District 2 deserve," she wrote.

Atkins-Grad said she'd resign if she received an $8,000 settlement related to two court cases that she'd then have dismissed.
In Dec. 2012, jurors acquitted Atkins-Grad of accepting bribes from two real estate developers in exchange for her vote on a housing project. Her attorney said she was politically naive.
The recall election was forced after a committee gathered more than 2,500 signatures.
