TAMPA, Fla. – A 7-year-old Tampa boy is in the hospital after he was shot by his grandmother.
Tyler Maddox was shot early Monday morning.
His grandmother says it was an accident, thinking her grandson was an intruder.
She says she grabbed her gun and fired a shot into the dark after hearing a loud noise near her bedroom door.
Maddox underwent surgery and is listed in serious but stable condition.
