Teen boy shot while riding bicycle Sunday night

Police searching for shooter

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. ā€“ A 14-year-old boy is in stable condition after being shot Sunday night while riding his bicycle.

The shooting was reported near Northwest 50th Street and Northwest 25th Avenue in Brownsville.

Miami-Dade police said the unidentified teen was shot several times just after 6 p.m.

Nearby residents said they heard as many as eight gunshots. The shooting scene was just feet away from Brownsville Middle School and several homes.

Police said the boy was just about 10 blocks from his home. About 40 evidence markers were placed around the scene, showing that their were many gunshots fired.

Witnesses told police that they saw a silver vehicle with two people inside leaving the area shortly after the shooting.

The teen was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami.
