The Miami-Broward One Carnival Set to Kick Off

Carnival Descends on Local 10

LAUDERHILL, Fla. – Butterflies, Flowers and puppets descended on Local 10 to showcase the children of Miami Broward Carnival.

The annual Caribbean festival kicks off every year with the children's parade at Central Regional Park in Lauderhill. Giselle Blanche is dressing her masqueraders with costumes representing the theme "WOW."

Blanche says watching the children enjoy the culture is priceless. "It is our way of passing on the culture through our children," said Blanche.

The Junior Carnival Parade takes place Sunday October 5th at Central Regional Park in Lauderhill from 1 pm to 8pm.

The Steelband competition  is Friday October 10 also at Central Regional Park.

The main Miami Broward Carnival parade takes place on Sunday October 15 at the Miami Dade County Fairgrounds starting at noon.

An  estimated three hundred thousand visitors come to South Florida for the event.
