Woman uses stolen card at 4 locations in Broward County, deputies say

OAKLAND PARK, Fla. – The Broward Sheriff's Office is searching for a woman who used a stolen credit card to make a purchase June 5 at a Publix in Oakland Park.

Deputies said the victim, Charles Pomonto, who lives in Miami, received a fraud alert that someone had made a large purchase and attempted a second purchase using one of his credit cards.

Pomonto said he was unaware that his credit card information had been stolen.

Surveillance video from the Publix at 1003 E. Commercial Blvd. showed a middle-aged Hispanic woman purchasing a gift card and flowers with Pomonto's card.

She was wearing a low-cut purple shirt, dark-colored pants and a gold necklace and was carrying a black and white purse.

Deputies said the woman also used the card at three Publix locations in Miramar and Fort Lauderdale, spending more than $1,000.
