Thieves steal 5 vehicles from Fort Lauderdale auto shop, police say

Culprits apparently drive through fence at Premium Cars

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Fort Lauderdale police are searching for the thieves who stole five vehicles from a Fort Lauderdale auto shop early Monday.

The incident was reported about 4:15 a.m. at Premium Cars at 1306 N. State Road 7.

Sky 10 was above the scene at 7:45 a.m. and saw that the front fence to the business appeared to have been driven through.

Authorities said the thieves snatched vehicle keys inside the business and are believed to have fled in vehicles from the lot.

The owner of Premium Cars told Local 10 News reporter Erica Rakow that he has been at the location for four months and his business has already been burglarized twice.

"Monday starts with bad news," Igor Gusev said. "This is the second time it's happened to us in a row. Last month, two vehicles were stolen."

According to the owner, surveillance video shows five juveniles stealing the vehicles, which include, a red, 2010 Audi A4, a black 2006 Lexus, a gray, 2008 Nissan Altima, a silver, 2007 Infiniti M35 and a black, 2006 Mercedes CLS.

Gusev said two 14-year-olds were arrested for the previous thefts and he believes the same people are responsible for Monday's thefts.

Two of the stolen vehicles were found later in the morning in the backyard of a home in the 1100 block of Northwest 14th Court.

No arrests have been made.

Anyone with information is asked to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
