3 found dead in northwest Miami-Dade County home

Man says ex-wife's husband killed family, self

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Police are investigating after three people were found dead in a home in northwest Miami-Dade County.

Miami-Dade police were called to a shooting early Tuesday morning in the 5500 block of Northwest 193rd Lane.

When officers arrived, they found two men and a woman dead inside the home.

Police have not released the names of the victims, but Jeffrey Eskridge told Local 10 News his 20-year-old son, Jeffrey Eskridge Jr., his son's mother, Valrie Davis, and her husband, Charlie Davis, were killed.

"Valrie and Charlie (were) arguing and my son walked in and he was defending her and (Charlie) shot him," Eskridge said.

Police are calling the shooting a murder-suicide.

Family members said Charlie Davis shot himself.

The shooting took place in front of Eskridge Jr.'s 16-year-old half-sister, whose life was spared.

"He told (her) that he loved her too much to kill her, so he was going to spare her," Eskridge said. "She was hiding in the closet in her room."
