Miami's oldest bar to shut down after 102 years in business

MIAMI ā€“ It's last call at Miami's oldest bar.

Tobacco Road is holding a final celebration before it closes its doors early Sunday morning after 102 years in business. According to the bar's Facebook page, the night of live performances begins at 8 p.m. Saturday and runs until 5 a.m. The event costs $10 per person.Ā

While the popular Brickell bar is shutting down, it's not gone for good. Its new owners are in the process of securing a piece of land, not far from its original home at 626 South Miami Avenue.Ā 

Tobacco Road will also be hitting the high seas, teaming up withĀ NorwegianĀ Cruise Lines to open a replica restaurant on board its newest ship, the Escape.Ā 

The barĀ closed its original locationĀ as the mega-project City Centre is going up across the street on South Miami Avenue.
