Toddler killed after being ejected from SUV in Miami

Kayden Hart dies after SUV driven by sister runs stop sign, slams into Cadillac

MIAMI – A 3-year-old was killed Tuesday after being ejected from a sport utility vehicle during a crash in Miami.

Kayden Hart was pronounced dead after a crash shortly before 6 p.m. near Northwest 53rd St.

Miami police said Kayden was riding in the SUV driven by his sister, Kierra Lee, 19, when she ran a stop sign and struck a Cadillac. The impact sent the Cadillac crashing into a house at the corner.

Lee and the driver of the Cadillac, Jeffrey Brinson, 43, were taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center. Brinson is listed in critical condition and Lee is listed in stable condition.

Kayden was pronounced dead at the hospital.

"(He was) happy, playful, loved to have fun," said Michael Hunter, Kayden's cousin.

Family members said Kayden was just three months shy of his fourth birthday.

"We just want to ask everyone to pray for my cousin, Shatarra," said Hunter. "She lost a baby boy today."

Police said charges are pending as they investigate what happened.
